C-237.4 Theory FOR and WICF
Whatever one may think about the asterisked “expanding universe,” the fact remains that instances of past and present behaviors, human and otherwise, those so-called “lessons of history” and “lessons of experience,” comprise an incomplete and inaccurate account of the Expansion and the S-universe phenomena and principles, of the Nature of Things ... and of behavior.
On the reasonable operating assumption that if we understood a problem better we would have solved it by now (itself very much a lesson from history), it seems we do not Grasp the fundamental problem of WICF.
Everything about our record in problem solving, but most especially our faltering basic operating system to deal with the behavioral problem, Pbeh, calls out for a theory FOR. For Forward! For the next step AT, ON the Frontier. For steps, the units of the S-universe, that come already sliced, courtesy of the Nature of Things’ discontinuity quality, accessible to the possibility of molecular splicing. That we have spliced unknowingly, via B-ness and B-speak, producing a towering escarpment confronting progress, does not obviate possible remedy.
Whatever then one may think of BFEPS as a theory OF or theory ABOUT this or that, we should consider its heuristic value as a theory FOR … for improving from tries to principled Trials by experimenting in and with procedural technology. Experientially from an early age, not just experimentally in a new behavioral science, we should be developing our Grasp of mettles and mettle alloying. (See App. XXIII.) And who’s to say that theories OF and ABOUT will not profit from the enterprise?
