C-246.7 Differentiation and existence
Just as the “-ion” suffix blunts the distinction between differentiation as process and product, dulling the technological development of behavior, so too does the “-ence” suffix sully what might and ought to be the future of “Exist” (“Be” is better?) as an R-word … and thus open to, and demanding of, mettle alloy development (“Become”).
Here, as above (C-246.6), a condition very much behavioral is poorly served. As if, for example, “exist” were but a state. But, as an R-word, it has two noun and two verb meanings, extending from needed functionality (N-1) through developed capability (V-1) to exercised capability (V-2) to a realized functionality (N-2)*
Isn’t “existence” pretty much a question about the human condition? Why ask it about anything -- and not ask it about us? And given our discussion of differentiation, especially in the footnotes to C-246, the answer, and the human condition, might well be expressed by this symbol:

Which says, the human condition is three places at once **: In the Expansion and Nature of Things (differentiate as a principle, as an extending force and as a general persisting condition [along with partial order and consequentiality]); in the S-universe (slice and splice as step making differentiating technology); and, differentiation as phenomenon in the B-universe (of producer, process and/or product – as in B-speak***).
DIFiate as an Involve symbol gives us a far-reaching Grasp, linguistically (WISA) … not only for what is talked about (WITA), but also for what is called for (WICF’s steps) and what there is to be talked about (WTITBTA’s Nature of Things as qualities [general persisting conditions] of the Expansion).
DIFiate expresses a theory OF, ABOUT and FOR. All of a piece: Just what B-ness plus One-ness aspired to be. Not a theory about diagnosis. A diagnosis … of the human condition. Not just differentiation as a B-ness phenomenon – i.e., of concern primarily to collectors of differences. Differentiate as all of an extending force, of principle and qualitative constant, of “slice and splice” technology and of producer, product and/or process phenomena.#
